Training & Development – Skill Enhancement Modules
The Training & Development wing at MEASI Institute of Management focuses on enhancing core skills through a comprehensive approach to behavioral and competency development for management students. By honing managerial and leadership attributes, MIM prepares students for their career and entrepreneurial aspirations. The unique coaching methodology targets three critical pillars—Attitude, Behavior, and Competency (A-B-C)—essential for holistic development as students enter the corporate world. The training program offers an experiential learning ecosystem, featuring live case studies and role-playing scenarios, allowing students to engage with industry experts and gain insights into various corporate domains. Students have opportunities to demonstrate their skills at inter-collegiate management meets, boosting their confidence. The program covers three core areas: Executive Communication, which builds confident communication skills; Business Etiquette, focusing on the importance of manners in a corporate setting through case studies and role plays; and Leadership & Team Building, which challenges students’ leadership qualities and team dynamics. To assess learning efficacy, students undergo evaluations based on the University of Madras exam pattern, including a written component and a viva-voce with an external examiner.

Exemplar
The culmination of the 2nd semester marks the beginning of a 45-day summer internship program for students entering the 3rd semester, providing them with real-time corporate exposure essential for their upcoming placements. Upon completing their internships, students must prepare detailed project reports encompassing their findings, learnings, and key takeaways. To foster interest and involvement, a unique competition, EXEMPLAR, was held where faculty evaluated all project reports, selecting the top 10 for presentation to the incoming batch of 1st-year students. Based on the innovative approaches and uniqueness of their projects, the top three submissions were rewarded. This event not only allowed senior students to showcase their presentation skills and project experiences but also provided first-year students with a comprehensive view of the preparedness required for their summer projects, opening opportunities for pitching project-related start-up ideas.

Culinary Spark Tank
At MEASI Institute of Management, fostering an entrepreneurial spirit among students is crucial for preparing them for the real-world business ecosystem. To this end, MIM is thrilled to announce the launch of Culinary Spark Tank, a student-led functional café project. This innovative initiative will transform the recently modernized 60-seater cafeteria on the MIM campus into a business fully managed and operated by students. The project aims to provide experiential learning by engaging students in product-range planning, budgeting, procurement, human resource management, marketing, and customer experience. It will spark entrepreneurial interest by allowing students to witness and learn from their peers managing a business, and it will promote financial sustainability by teaching students to handle financial aspects prudently. Furthermore, it empowers students with essential life skills, entrepreneurial experience, and ownership of responsibilities, aligning with MIM’s commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem. Following an initial rollout where several teams proposed concepts, three were shortlisted for the final bidding process, evaluated by hotelier Mr. Santosh Muruganantham from Kolapasi. The contract was awarded to Café Alif, which has since resumed operations, making the cafeteria a vibrant hub for student interaction and networking.

Debating Club Launch at MEASI Institute of Management
In an era that demands critical thinking, persuasive communication, and informed decision-making, the launch of the Debating Club at MEASI Institute of Management marks a significant step toward nurturing these essential competencies among students. The club is envisioned as a vibrant platform for intellectual engagement, where students can explore diverse perspectives, question assumptions, and articulate their ideas with clarity and confidence.
Debating is more than just arguing for or against a motion—it is a structured exercise in reasoning, evidence-based discussion, and respectful dissent. In today’s dynamic business and social environments, the ability to think on one’s feet, defend a viewpoint with logic, and listen actively to counterarguments is invaluable.
The Debating Club aims to foster these abilities while instilling in students a spirit of inquiry and exploration. Through regular debates, workshops, and intercollegiate events, students will have the opportunity to delve into contemporary issues, sharpen their public speaking skills, and build self-confidence. Most importantly, it will help cultivate a culture of constructive dialogue, where differences of opinion are not just tolerated but celebrated as a source of deeper understanding and innovation.
