CAT Process

The continuous assessment process at MEASI Institute of Management, overseen by the Internal Exam Cell, ensures a structured approach to conducting and evaluating exams. Here’s a detailed outline of the process based on the above flowchart provided:

  1. Syllabus Completion Status: The process begins with confirming the syllabus coverage. Faculty members review the syllabus to ensure the required content is completed before the assessment.
  2. Syllabus Finalization for CAT: The syllabus is finalized specifically for the Continuous Assessment Test (CAT). This step ensures that only the relevant portions of the syllabus are included in the test. CO1 and CO2 are covered in CAT 1 and CO3 and CO4 is covered in CAT 2 and CO1 to CO5 are covered in Model Exam
  3. Question Paper (QP) Setting and CO-PO Mapping: The question paper is prepared once the syllabus is finalized. Each question is mapped with Course Outcomes (CO) and Program Outcomes (PO), ensuring alignment with the curriculum’s learning objectives following Bloom’s Taxonomy. This question paper pattern, including CO-PO mapping, and Bloom’s Taxonomy is circulated to the subject handlers and collected by the Internal Exam Cell.
  4. Review by IEC Committee: The prepared question paper is reviewed by the Internal Exam Committee (IEC) to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with the course objectives.
  5. Corrections and Approval: If any corrections are suggested during the IEC review, they are made, and the question paper is re-evaluated. Once finalized, the IEC committee approves the paper for distribution.
  6. Conducting the CAT: After approval, the CAT is conducted as per the exam schedule. Invigilation duties are assigned to faculty members, and they supervise the exams to maintain academic integrity.
  7. Evaluation of CAT Answer Papers: Post-exam, the answer sheets are distributed to the respective subject handlers (faculty members responsible for each subject) for evaluation.
  8. Answer Paper Distribution and Verification: Once evaluated, the answer papers undergo a verification process to ensure that all marks are accurately awarded.
  9. Mark Finalization and Entry in CAMU: The final marks are recorded and entered into the CAMU system, the academic management software used by the institute. This step completes the assessment cycle, with all records securely stored in the database for future reference.

The Internal Exam Cell at MEASI Institute of Management carefully manages and monitors this entire process, ensuring that each step is meticulously followed to uphold academic standards and integrity. The systematic process facilitates efficient tracking, evaluation, and reporting of student performance in alignment with the program’s educational objectives.
