Educational Grievance Redressal Cell (EGRC)

Overview

The University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) criteria were followed in the establishment of the Educational Grievance Redressal Cell (EGRC) at MEASI Institute of Management. In order to guarantee that students’ academic concerns, problems, and complaints are handled fairly, openly, and promptly, the cell acts as a specialized platform.

Objectives

The Educational Grievance Redressal Cell’s primary goals are to promote a peaceful learning environment by swiftly and efficiently resolving grievances.

  • To guarantee justice, equity, and openness in administrative and scholarly choices.
  • To give pupils a private, encouraging way to express their worries.
  • To improve academic achievement and student satisfaction by addressing problems that could impede learning.
  • To preserve the institution’s core principles of honesty, diversity, and responsibility.

Scope of Grievances

Grievances pertaining to administrative and academic issues are handled by the EGRC and may include, but are not restricted to, the following:

1. Assessment and appraisal: Inconsistencies or issues with exam results, project appraisal, or internal grades.
2. Academic administration: Delays in the delivery of transcripts, certificates, mark sheets, and other course-related paperwork.
3. Classroom and Teaching Concerns: Problems with how courses are taught, how subjects are assigned, or what resources are available for learning.
4. Attendance and Course Registration: Issues with subject registration, class scheduling, or attendance records.
5. Infrastructure and Learning Facilities: Inability to obtain learning materials, lab space, or library resources.

Procedure for Lodging a Grievance

  • Filing a Complaint: Students have two options for submitting their grievances via the institution’s official grievance redressal portal: via email or in writing. The problem, pertinent information, and any supporting documentation should all be clearly stated in the complaint.
  • Recognition: The complaint is acknowledged by the EGRC upon receipt and entered into the grievance registry for subsequent handling.
  • Initial Analysis: After conducting an initial examination to ascertain the nature and extent of the grievance, the committee, if necessary, passes it to the relevant department or faculty member.
  • Hearing and Resolution:The student and other pertinent parties may be asked to give statements by the committee. The cell makes a just and impartial decision based on the facts and evidence.
  • Communication of Decision: To ensure accountability and transparency, the student is informed of the final decision and the steps followed within the allotted time.

Confidentiality and Fairness

  • To safeguard the interests of the complainant, the EGRC handles all complaints with complete confidentiality.
  • The cell makes sure that no student experiences prejudice, reprisals, or disadvantages as a result of voicing a legitimate complaint.
  • The EGRC ensures fairness and integrity in every case by making unbiased decisions based on merit and factual analysis.
